Deformity (Bracing) - Nighttime Bracing With the Providence Brace in Adolescent Girls With Idiopathic Scoliosis - The authors report their findings on 102 consecutive female patients who were treated with a hypercorrective nighttime brace. The minimum follow-up after the end brace treatment was 2 years (average 2.6 years, range 2.1-6.9 years). Overall, 74% of patients were successful. In immature patients (Risser 0-1) with 20-29(degree) curves, only 23% progressed compared with the anticipated progression of 68% in untreated patients. The Providence brace is made using measurement frame and computer-aided design and manufacturing techniques. Used only at night, the Providence brace removes the social stigma associated with daytime bracing for idiopathic scoliosis. It is an effective alternative to daytime and nighttime bracing for the initial treatment of all curves <35(degree) and low apex (below T8) curves >35(degree)./
