SCIENTIFIC PAPERS - Postoperative Bile Duct Strictures: Management and Outcome in the 1990s - A single-institution experience in the surgical management of 156 patients with postoperative bile duct strictures and/or major bile duct injuries during the 1990s is reported. Routine management consisted of Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy constructed over one or more transhepatic silastic stents. A successful outcome, without the need for invasive diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, was obtained in 91% of patients, with a mean follow-up of 57.5 months.
