SCIENTIFIC PAPERS - Laparoscopic Repair of Giant Paraesophageal Hernia: 100 Consecutive Cases - Over a 4-year period, 100 patients underwent laparoscopic repair of a giant paraesophageal hernia (PEH). Follow-up included heartburn scores and quality-of-life measurements. Laparoscopic repair of giant PEH was successfully accomplished in 97% of patients with no 30-day mortalities, one delayed operative mortality from the complications of a perioperative stroke, acceptable morbidity, 2-day length of stay, and good intermediate results./
