Synthesis of Poly(cyanurate)s by a Novel Polyaddition of Bis(epoxide)s with Triazine dichloride Published online 20 September 2000 The polyaddition of bis(epoxide)s such as diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A, 4,4'-diglycidyl ether of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbiphenyl, 4,4'-digylcidyl ether of biphenyl, and diglycidyl ether of ethylene glycol with 2,4-dichloro-6-(diphenylamino)-s-triazine (DPAT) was investigated in certain organic solvents. The reaction proceeded smoothly using tetrabutylammonium chloride as a catalyst at 100 (degree)C, and high molecular weight poly(cyanurate)s with s-triazine groups in the main chain and pendant chloromethyl groups were obtained in good yields./
