Biomechanics - Biomechanical Effects of Progressive Anterior Cervical Decompression - Anterior column structures in human cadaveric cervical spines were progressively resected to evaluate their contributions to stability and kinematics. Resection of disc, uncovertebral joints, and posterior longitudinal ligament caused varied but significant changes in range of motion, neutral zone, stiffness, axis of rotation, and coupling. Each structure's biomechanical contribution is described./
