Malignant and Benign Bone Tumors - The imaging evaluation of bone tumors in children is critical because it helps distinguish malignant from benign lesions and guides the subsequent evaluation, therapy, or observation of the patient. Most malignant bone tumors are present for months before diagnosis, and their presence is detected easily on imaging.
