Technique - A Prospective Comparison of Surgical Approach for Anterior L4-L5 Fusion: Laparoscopic Versus Mini Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion - Prospective data on a series of SO consecutive patients undergoing L4-L5 anterior spinal fusion was analyzed, comparing a transperitoneal laparoscopic approach to an open mini-ALIF retroperitoneal approach. No advantage of the laparoscopic approach was identified. The open approach provided better exposure and a significantly lower complication rate./

Technique - Cervical Pedicle Screws: Comparative Accuracy of Two Insertion Techniques - Independent radiographic and anatomic assessment of image-guided cervical pedicle screw insertion versus Abumi's fluoroscopically assisted technique demonstrated no significant difference. The data further indicated a threshold pedicle dimension below 4.5 mm in which safe screw placement becomes less likely./
